Police have ended the sit-in at the Pelican Narrows band office. Protesters began occupying the building last week in objection to the way provincial tax refunds are distributed among band members. CBC reports that RCMP officers have forced the demonstrators out, serving them with a court injunction. The protesters had been calling for band members to receive a higher share of gas and tobacco taxes, which were refunded to aboriginal bands by the Saskatchewan government. Pelican Narrows sits 120 kilometres northwest of Flin Flon.
