The Flin Flon Elks Club recently had early Christmas gifts for a handful of youth organizations. The club last week presented cheques totaling $725 to six non-profit groups dedicated to young people. The donation consists of $200 for the Scouts; $125 for Flin Flon/Creighton Minor Hockey; $100 for the Navy League Cadets; $100 for the Sea Cadets; $100 for the Brownies; and $100 for the Sparks. Pictured left, in front, is Lois (Bunny) Burke of the Sea and Navy League cadets accepting a cheque from Gord Evans, Exalted Ruler of the Elks. Looking on are the cadets and other volunteers with the program. Pictured right (left to right) are Ron Potkonjak of the Scouts; Gord Evans; Peggy Mullie of the Brownies; and Shauna Rutherford of the Sparks. The Elks also delivered about 130 hampers over the weekend to people in need in Flin Flon and Creighton. It was just another way the Elks strive to make the holidays merrier for the community.
