Jenny Gear, the 21 year-old from Carbonear, Newfoundland has been singing every since she could talk. Definitely unique in her own right, Jenny was brought up learning to appreciate many different musical influences. As a result, her style has developed into an "elective jazz/ contemporary/ folk/ indie rock combination". Jenny has performed at various folk festivals throughout Newfoundland since she was eight. She is currently involved in the dynamic St. John's music scene, where she performs with her band The Whiskey Kittens. Jenny is a writer/actor for the Rebel Island Theatre Company in Carbonear. She points to Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen as her Canadian idols. The expression "Mind your P's and Q's" means to be careful how you behave. It is possible the origin of the expression came about as a warning to children learning the alphabet to be careful to distinguish between the 'p' and 'q', which look very similar. But another belief is that the saying started in British pubs where beer is sold by the Pint or the Quart. One might be warned to mind how many Pints and Quarts (P's and Q's) were consumed because if you drank too many you may not remember when it came time to pay, and therefore may be overcharged. Something to Ponder: An outside elevator will drive some people up a wall.
