Many things are accepted as facts but not all of them are. Everyone knows that every fourth year is leap year. The fact is that every fourth year that can be divided by four, is a leap year, except years ending in 00 that cannot be divided by 400. The years 1800 and 1900 were not leap years because, although they were the fourth year, they could not be divided by 400. The year 2000 met all requirements and was a leap year. This is because a solar year is actually not exactly 365 1/4 days long but is in fact 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, 46 seconds long, and the hours, minutes, and seconds have to be made up. Did you know that the first snow plough used in St. John's, Newfoundland was a converted World War I Whippet tank. Something to Ponder: If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it will always be yours. If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with. But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it freeÉ You either married it or gave birth to it.
