For more than 30 years Terra Footwear has been manufacturing top quality safety boots and safety shoes for the Canadian worker. From its humble beginnings in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Terra Footwear has grown to become the world's leading brand of premium quality safety boots. As an official supplier to the Canadian Department of National Defence, Terra manufactures a full range of police and military boots for all types of uniform and duty applications. The Terra safety boots are made of leather with Thinsulate thermal insulation. All Terra steel toe boots include a contoured puncture resistant steel plate that resists 1200N penetration. Terra Nova Shoes was founded in 1971 to revive a bankrupt shoe factory. It now has sales in excess of $21 million and employs 130 people in Harbour Grace. It also has a second manufacturing plant in Markdale, Ontario. Currently, the Harbour Grace plant manufactures 1,600 pairs of boots a day, while the Markdale plant turns out 1,100 pairs. Also, Terra Nova Shoes' bootmakers have won global recognition for the quality of their designs and the durability of their products.
