Some lucky area residents will be trading in their mitts and parkas for sandals and suntan lotion. The Rotary Club of Flin Flon on Friday held their 2003 Dream Vacation Draw during a social at the R.H. Channing Auditorium. Marlene Poirier of Flin Flon was the big winner, as her name was drawn for a seven-night vacation package to Hawaii worth $4,800. See 'Package' P.# Con't from P.# Winning a seven-night package to Cancun, New Mexico was Lily Schwartz of Flin Flon. The prize has a value of $4,400. Monty Henstridge of Denare Beach won a seven-night vacation to Cuba worth $4,100, while Del Ward of Bakers Narrows had his name drawn for a seven-night package to the Dominican Republic. The final seven-night package, a trip to Puerto Vallarta worth $3,200, went to Richard and Karen Klause of Flin Flon. Meanwhile, Roberta MacKinnon and Ralph Bouvier of Flin Flon won a three-night stay in New Orleans. Finally, Todd Faragher and Scott James of Flin Flon won a three-night trip to Las Vegas worth $2,300. The winners' names were drawn during the Dream Draw Social on Friday evening, which included entertainment from popular local band High Noon. Naturally, the suspense added to the excitement of the evening, attended by about 120 people. Considering the cold weather of late, one may chalk the draw up as the latest in a long list of good deeds for the community by the Rotarians. All winners have the option of taking the trip or 75 per cent of its cash value.
