It's become a Flin Flon holiday tradition. As surely as jolly old St. Nick will bring toys to all the good boys and girls this Christmas, one lucky person will be handed the keys to a brand new vehicle courtesy of the Flin Flon Lions Club. The service club is again holding its Christmas Draw, with a 2005 Chevy Colorado extended cab truck up for grabs. "It's a really nice truck," said Wayne Streamer, Lions president. "It would be great in the wintertime around Flin Flon." See 'Proceeds' P.# Con't from P.# With a retail value of approximately $29,115, the slick vehicle comes with a 2.8-litre, four cylinder engine, CD player, air conditioning and a host of other features. "It's big enough that you can use it to haul wood, yet it's small enough that you can park it anywhere, just like a car," said Streamer. Tickets (three for $20) may be purchased at the usual location, the Lions Trailer on Main St., or from any Lions member. Also watch for members selling tickets at Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire. The draw will be held on Christmas Day and broadcast live on CFAR-590. Each year, the vehicle draw is the most successful Lions fundraiser, turning a profit of about $15,000 if all the tickets are sold. Proceeds stay in the community, going toward community projects supported by the Lions. The Lions purchased the truck from Dean Cooley GM in The Pas.
