Staff at Flin Flon Wal-Mart made two check presentations yesterday morning. A presentation of $2,143 was made to the Women's Safe Haven and a presentation of $4,000 was made to Ruth Betts School. The money was raised by members of the store's Charity Committee through various fundraising events held at the store, with support from the local community. All money raised was also matched by Wal-Mart through the store's matching grant program. Each year the store chooses a local school to support through its Adopt a School Program. Some of the Wal-Mart associates who are part of the Charity Committee got together to present the checks. Pictured (left to right) are: Wynda Gray, Ruth Betts Principal John Belfry, Tanis Skwark, Joann Gauthier, Collen Arnold of the Women's Save Haven and Karen Chaisson.
