RBC Financial Group deposited $5,000 to programs for area young people yesterday. The donation went to the Flin Flon Friendship Centre for its Youth Resources Lighthouse Program. Coordinated through the Community Youth Resource Centre, the program includes sports, cooking, computer time and a variety of other educational and social activities. Bank manager Jeff Daly said it's important to support programs of this nature, which might not necessarily have the funding to operate otherwise. Shelly Craig, executive director of the Friendship Centre, thanked him for the donation, which brings the amount the bank has contributed to the centre since 2001 to $20,000.
