There was good news for lifelong learners yesterday when RBC Financial Group donated $5,000 to the Community Adult Learning Centre. Branch Manager Jeff Daly wore a bright smile as he presented the donation to Margaret de Kock, coordinator of the centre. "It will certainly help us keep going," de Kock told Daly. Daly noted that RBC Financial Group branches support a number of initiatives across Canada. The local branch also donated $5,000 to the centre, based on Main Street above Pharmasave, last year. Since being established in 1992, the Community Adult Learning Centre has provided a wide range of students with variety of a educational offerings. One of the main reasons adults show up is to gain a refresher before returning to high school. While the centre doesn't offer high school courses, a number of adults over the years have used the free program as a stepping stone to either return to high school or achieve a high school equivalency diploma. The centre currently has 35 students.
