The North of 53 Consumers Cooperative Limited recently donated $200 to the Northern Neighbours Foundation, to show its support for the community of Flin Flon/Creighton. Graham Craig, Board Member Relations Chair, presented the cheque to Joyce Mitchell, president of the Northern Neighbours Foundation. Graham stressed the importance of keeping donation funds in the community, saying: "The Co-operative Retailing System is committed to strengthening and preserving communities across western Canada. Donations to local organizations like the Northern Neighbours Foundation help ensure the continue vitality and growth of our community." "We are very pleased to be able to make this donation, and wish the Northern Neighbours Foundation every success in the coming year." Donation funds were made available through member retail co-op delegate attendance at Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) Annual meetings held in early March. Approximately $40,800 was donated in 2005 to community organizations across western Canada.
