One of two Flin Flon physicians disciplined after a recent altercation is going back to work while his colleague remains suspended. The Northern Health Region confirms that one of the physicians will return to his medical practise effective Sept. 12. His suspension has already ended following the 30-day period outlined in the NHR's medical staff bylaws. The other physician involved in the altercation remains suspended as the process surrounding his situation continues to unfold, said NHR spokesperson Glenn Hildebrand. Extra Staff The NHR will continue to bring extra physicians to Flin Flon to fill the gap created by the remaining suspension, Hildebrand confirmed. In late July or early August, the two physicians were involved in an altercation at the Flin Flon General Hospital. Despite many rumours and much speculation, specific details of the altercation have not been made public. The NHR suspended both men without pay and hired an out-of-region external investigator to determine what happened. Hildebrand said the investigation wrapped up late last week, with the resultant report now in the hands of CEO Helga Bryant.
