The search is on for young people who set a positive example for their peers and communities. Nominations are being accepted for the Healthy Youth Role Model Award with the following criteria set out: between the ages of 15 and 19; does not use drugs or alcohol; is a resident of Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach or Cranberry Portage areas; is attending school; and is involved in extracurricular activities. The winner will receive a $50 cheque, a gift basket, a personalized plaque and his or her name on a special plaque that will hang in their school for one year. His or her name will be announced during National Addictions Awareness Week, taking place from November Nov. 18 to 24. The public has until Oct. 31 to nominate a youth.
