Jonathon Naylor Editor The man credited with discovering McIlvenna Bay has joined the company hoping to mine the highly touted deposit. Geologist Marian (Mike) Koziol is now a technical consultant with Foran Mining Corp. of Vancouver. A Foran news release said Koziol has spent over 30 years in the mining and exploration, with the McIlvenna Bay deposit outside Flin Flon among his discoveries. 'We are happy to have Mike join Foran as a technical consultant,' Patrick Soares, president and CEO of Foran, said in the release. 'He brings a depth of geological experience to the company, including a detailed knowledge of the discovery of McIlvenna Bay, the geology and exploration history of the area and known mineral occurrences around the deposit. 'We look forward to having Mike as part of our technical team, in particular at this exciting time as we begin the winter 2013 exploration drilling of our highly prospective landholdings around McIlvenna Bay.' Foran considers McIlvenna Bay, located in Saskatchewan 65 km west of Flin Flon, its flagship property. The company has long spoke of opening a mine at the site, but so far no opening date has been announced.
