A sport that may well be unique to Denare Beach has garnered a mention in one of Canada’s major newspapers.
In a Jan. 29 article, the National Post took a look at winter festivals across Canada and had this to say:
“In Saskatchewan, turkey curling – yep frozen turkeys take the place of curling stones – is one of the unusual events staged each year at the Denare Beach Winter Festival in February.”
Unfortunately, hard copies of the Post have not been available in Denare Beach – or the Flin Flon area – for many years.
