Five men and women are campaigning to fill the vacancy on the Council of the Northern Village of Denare Beach. Paul Ballentyne, Wanda Ginnell, Shane Madarash, Kevin Schanowski and Anne Schiltroth have put their names forth for the position. Voters will head to the polls Oct. 20 to decide which candidate will occupy the council seat left vacant by Karen Thomson's departure to Thompson. The successful candidate will be elected to the remaining two years of the three-year term Thomson left behind.
