Longtime Flin Flonner Doug Gourlay Sr. has been named an Honourary Life Member of the Manitoba Curling Association. The distinction comes in recognition of Gourlay's 13 years of service as zone chairman for the MCA's masters bonspiel from 1988 to 2001. One of just five Manitobans to receive the honour this year, Gourlay plans to go to Winnipeg this October for the special, "Life Member's Day" celebration. He has also received a plaque. An avid curler for over 50 years, Gourlay again looks forward to digging out his broom and slider this upcoming season for more Hot Stove League action.1/6/04
