Flin Flon RCMP are searching for two rock-wielding thieves believed to be behind a string of commercial break-ins.
In the span of less than three weeks in June, officers were notified of five successful and attempted break-ins at businesses downtown and on South Hudson Street.
It started on Saturday, June 7, just after 8 a.m., when police responded to a report of a break-and-enter at a business on South Hudson Street.
The front door of the business had been smashed with a rock and undisclosed property stolen, Mounties said.
Three days later, on Tuesday, June 10 at about 7:30 a.m., RCMP were called to another break-and-enter, this time at a business on North Avenue.
Smashed with rock
Again, the front door of the business had been smashed with a rock and property removed.
The next day, on Wednesday, June 11, at 1 a.m., police responded to a break-and-enter alarm at a business on Hapnot Street.
The front door had also been smashed with a rock, but officers were on scene in one minute and the suspect or suspects had not gained entry.
Thursday, June 26 saw a break-in and an attempted break-in.
First, just after 3 a.m., Mounties were dispatched to an alarm at a business on South Main Street.
Once again, the front door of the business had been smashed with a rock, the culprit or culprits having made off with property.
While police were investigating that call, shortly before 3:30 a.m. came another break and enter alarm from a business on South Hudson Street.
This was the same business that had been targetted in June 7 break-in. Officers arrived on scene within one minute of dispatch. Nothing was smashed and no one had gained entry.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the two suspects they believe to be involved in these incidents.
