Police have made a major drug bust on the northern Manitoba First Nation of Cross Lake. This past Saturday, March 3, members of the Cross Lake RCMP executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence on the reserve. The warrant was executed with the assistance of the RCMP Manitoba North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), and the Thompson RCMP Police Service Dog Team. Police say roughly $30,000.00 dollars worth of cocaine and marijuana was seized along with some $2,000 in cash, one hand gun and several rifles and weapons. Two adult males, 20 and 21 years old, were arrested and are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as various weapons-related offences. Their names were not immediately released. Police continue to investigate.
