Plans are still in the works to give law enforcement more eyes and ears on the streets of Flin Flon. Organizers want to re-launch the Citizens on Patrol program, but getting all of the volunteers together at once has proved challenging. About 20 residents have put their names on a volunteer list, but fewer than half attended the latest organizational meeting held last week. For the group to finalize a schedule and iron out all remaining details, organizers hope most Ð if not all Ð can attend a future meeting, a date for which has not been set. And of course more volunteers are welcome. "The more people we have, the better it's going to be," said Flin Flon By-law Enforcement Officer Darren Romo, who is overseeing the program. Volunteers have already attended a trio of meetings, receiving information and training relating to the nationwide program. Citizens on Patrol involves volunteers patrolling the community and notifying police of any illegal or suspicious activity. For more information about joining, phone Darren at 681-7509.
