Creighton’s Prospector Inn still sale amid recent interest

Creighton’s Prospector Inn continues to elicit some interest on the open market but there’s “nothing serious at this point,” says an official with the financial cooperative that owns the vacant motel and restaurant.

Creighton’s Prospector Inn continues to elicit some interest on the open market but there’s “nothing serious at this point,” says an official with the financial cooperative that owns the vacant motel and restaurant.

Blaine Campbell, chief lending officer with Swan Valley Credit Union, said recent interest has been shown in the building.

“Yeah, there’s some bites on it,” he said Wednesday. Asked how many, he replied, “I would say a couple.”

Added Campbell: “It’s nothing serious at this point, but there are prospects and I am hopeful that things will move here sooner than later, but again it’s hard to say.”

Earlier this year, the Swan River-based credit union removed its listing with a local real estate firm, deciding instead to market the Prospector Inn specifically at businesspeople and entrepreneurs.

The Prospector Inn had been listed at $1.2 million. Asked in April whether the credit union would lower its asking price, Campbell could not say, adding, “All I can say is we are open to offers.”

The motel and restaurant abruptly closed in January 2015.
