After a successful Dessert Theatre earlier this month, the Creighton Community School Drama group travelled to Winnipeg to attend the Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
Nine students ranging from grades 9 to 12 worked closely with professionals to further develop their theatrical skills – including workshops on dance, vocals, auditioning and improvisation.
The students went to see the production of Once Upon a Time in Graceland, with four of them asked to participate as dwarfs on stage.
The three-day trip helped to broaden the students’ horizons.
The group’s own performance of The Ransom of Miss Elverna Dower, held on May 6 and 7, helped fundraise for the Winnipeg trip.
The nine students who went to Winnipeg were Michael Manns, Marieka Angell, Aline Nasselquist, Paige Walker, Teanna Angell, Taylor Kryschuk, Mady Simon, Kenzie Simon and Carly Nowlin.
