Creighton resident faces weapons charges following search warrant

Saskatchewan RCMP have said a 31-year-old man is facing multiple weapons-related charges after police executed a search warrant in Creighton last week.

Creighton RCMP, working alongside the Prince Albert General Investigation Section (GIS), executed a search warrant at a home Feb. 28, finding several weapons and accessories inside. 

According to an RCMP news release, police found several items inside the residence, including 13 non-restricted firearms, two prohibited firearms, two explosive detonator cords, one conducted energy weapon, three prohibited knives, a homemade firearm suppressor, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and electronic devices including a computer and cell phones.

RCMP say that Jacob Christianson, 31, was arrested and currently faces charges including unauthorized importation of a prohibited device, possession of prohibited firearms, possession of prohibited weapons, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition accessible and careless storage of a firearm. According to the news release, Christianson was released with conditions on a promise to appear in Creighton Provincial Court April 14.

RCMP are continuing the investigation.
