As the weather slowly begins to heat up, so are calls to Creighton RCMP.

Officers responded to 83 calls within the detachment area in March. The majority of the calls came from the Denare Beach area.

A large chunk of the calls included unwanted intoxicated people at homes - 16 times in total. Two assaults were reported, one involving two brothers that ended with one receiving a large cut on his shoulder and the other involving an incident of domestic violence. Charges have been laid in both reports.

Several calls of disturbing the peace, one theft, an impaired driving case and a smattering of minor offences also were reported.

In Creighton, 34 calls came into police during the month. One assault call came in after an intoxicated person went to a home hoping to party and started a fight. The victim is pressing charges in the incident.

A stolen vehicle call came in from the Creighton Sportex. The suspect was identified and charges are being sought, while there is no word on whether the vehicle was recovered.

Ten mischief calls, all involving unwanted intoxicated people at different homes, came in.

One call was reported from Sturgeon Landing, involving a theft. A person reported money and a television being stolen from them by a family member. The items were recovered and the owner pressed charges on the missing television, but not the missing cash.

Creighton RCMP were also called to the area about a missing person when someone did not arrive in the community when expected. On investigation, the driver was found to have accidentally driven into the ditch on the Manitoba side of the provincial border. Cranberry Portage RCMP took control of the file.
