Thursday, June 17, was the day that Creighton Community School held their annual Awards Day for grades 7 to 9. The Marv Panasiuk Award for best academic performance went to Shawn Wilkinson with an average of 96 per cent. The grade 7, 8 and 9 Academic Achievement Awards went to Zoe Pittet and Shanine Slugoski (tied), Drew McCrimmon and Shawn Wilkinson. See 'Awards' P.# Con't from P.# Grade 7, 8 and 9 Language Arts Awards went to Zoe Pittet, Sunny Parr and Zach Teneyke. Grade 7, 8 and 9 Science Awards went to Megan Abele, Drew McCrimmon and Jordy Dumenko. Grade 7, 8 and 9 Social Studies Awards went to Shannon Wallaker, Barak Pittet and Jordy Dumenko. Grades 7, 8 and 9 French Awards went to Becky McDonald, Keenan Oberg and Shawn Wilkinson. Grades 7, 8 and 9 Cree Awards went to Megan Abele, Skylar Hillier and Aleecia Elliott. Grades 7, 8 and 9 Arts Education Awards went to Brandon Thomson, Keenan Oberg and Sara Thirnbeck. Grades 7, 8 and 9 Industrial Arts Awards went to Jade King, Ryan Fox and Shawn Wilkinson. Grades 7, 8 and 9 Home Economics Awards went to Shannon Wallaker, Jessica Hunter and Nicole Moberly. Most Improved Student Awards went to Kyle McMaster, Kyle Sewap and Cody March. Spirit Awards went to Becky McDonald, Sarah Stevens and Jordan King. Diligence Awards went to Shanine Slugoski, Drew McCrimmon and Annalee Stevens. Citizenship Awards went to Jillian Storey, Drew McCrimmon and Samara Whitbread. Drama Club Awards went to Zach Teneyke and Samara Whitbread, with the Choir Award going to Jennifer McLean. Sound Crew Awards went to Skylar Hillier, Chad March, Brock Gummerson, Matt Chambers and Blair Chaisson. Perfect Attendance Awards went to Jordan Dumenko in grade 9 and Cassandra Karcha who has had eight years of perfect attendance in school. Queen's University Book Award went to Zach Teneyke. The 2004 Arts Education Media Event Recognition Awards went to Annalee Stevens and Sara Thirnbeck. These girls also received a congratulatory message from the Premier of the Province of Saskatchewan and the girls have their pictures on display in Regina. The Alex Oberg Memorial Leadership Award was presented to Zach Teneyke. The Honour Roll Awards presented to grades 7, 8 and 9 students who consistently maintained an average over 80 per cent or higher for the school year were: Grade 7: Megan Abele, Tanner Buettner, Shelby Flodell, Brooke Knutson, Kendra Moberly, Zoe Pittet, Shanine Slugoski, Shannon Wallaker, Juliane Boulet, Taylor Davis, Jade King, Rebecca MacDonald, Vern Riehl, Jenna Rudd, Julian Storey, Bailey Streitle and Haliee Toffan. The Athletic Awards: Track and Field Award - Zoe Pittet and Matt Chambers Most Improved Athlete - Nicole Moberly and Taylor Watling. Sportsmanship Awards went to Shanine Slugoski and Walter Olson. Active Living Award went to Steven Robinson. Male Athlete of the Year was Matt Chambers. Female Athlete of the Year was Jordan King. The Volunteer Awards went to Ashley Fullowka and Blair Chaisson. The Leif Nasselquist Award went to Aleecia Elliott and Jordy Dumenko. The Saskatchewan Physical Association Award given as a National Recognition for Physical Education and Quality of Daily Physical Activity was presented to Creighton Community school for the fifth year in a row.
