Call it a win-win situation. Residents got some Christmas shopping done while supporting worthwhile causes on Sunday. An estimated 1,000 people stopped by the Creighton Bingo Palace for the Third Annual Northern Rainbow's End Charity Craft Sale. "We're really pleased," said co-organizer Leona Kemp, noting that the event raised $2,000 for local charities. The sale featured 40 tables selling a variety of goods, from wood crafts to knitting to fresh-out-of-the-oven home baking. A number of shoppers dropped off coats and blankets for needy children as well as edibles for the Lord's Bounty Food Bank and Elks Christmas Cheer program. The sale was sponsored by Kemp's gift store, Northern Rainbow's End, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to charity. Helping to organize were Sandra Barr, a store employee, and Roller Young, who collected prizes for the afternoon's Penny Parade. This was the ninth year of the sale, which dates back to when Northern Rainbow's End was under different ownership and called PB Craftique.
