Crack cocaine is a growing problem in The Pas, where officers recently made their 50th seizure of the drug in the past two years, the Winnipeg Free Press reported. "We've got a high rate of people on social assistance, and a lot of that money goes up in smoke in the form of crack cocaine," Cpl. Pat Olson was quoted as saying in the newspaper. The Pas RCMP made their latest crack bust on Dec. 23, seizing over 20 grams of the drug and arresting two men from Winnipeg, the newspaper reported. A rock of crack can sell for as much as $70 in Northern Manitoba, it reported.
