Manitoba has reported another death due to COVID-19 - a woman in her 90s in the Steinbach region, tied to an outbreak at seniors' facility Bethesda Place.

Province-wide, 22 new cases were reported - nine in Prairie Mountain Health, six in Southern Health-Sante Sud, four in Winnipeg and three in the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority. Six people are hospitalized with COVID-19, with one person in intensive care.

Throughout Manitoba, 407 people have COVID-19 including one person in the Northern Health Region.

Another possible outbreak has been reported at Rideau Park, a personal care home in Brandon. A case found in Prairie Mountain Health has been revealed to be a health worker at the home. Investigations into the exposure, including finding contacts, are underway.  The worker with the first reported case is said to have worn personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in the home and is self-isolating.

The province's five day test positivity rate sits at three per cent , with provincial health officials saying the increase in cases and rates is due to targeting testing to people showing symptoms of the disease and people referred by health care workers.

In Saskatchewan, five new cases were announced August 27, including three in the north west and two in Saskatoon. Seven people who had COVID-19 have recovered in the past day, while 58 people still have COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. Half of the 58 active cases are in "communal living settings", according to the province. No cases are active in the far north.

Three people are in hospital with COVID-19, including one person in intensive care.
