A Flin Flon city councillor is urging organizers of Flin Flon’s Hockeyville bid to try again next year.
Coun. Karen MacKinnon noted this week that Flin Flon was not among the 10 finalists in the Kraft Hockeyville contest.
“I think we should recognize [organizers] for the effort that they put in and congratulate them on their submission,” she said at the Tuesday, March 15 council meeting.
Added MacKinnon: “Flin Flon is Hockeyville.”
Flin Flon’s Hockeyville entry included a video featuring comments from Gerry Hart and Reid Simpson, two former NHLers from the community.
The top prize in the contest is an NHL exhibition game and arena upgrades.
