An ongoing investigation left RCMP unable to provide many answers as to why a police-tape-covered car was parked along the Creighton Freeway over the weekend. On Sunday and early Monday, numerous motorists spotted the red car, strewn with yellow police tape, abandoned and parked not far from the Hudbay access road. The car also appeared to have at least two flat tires. Creighton RCMP could provide only limited details Monday morning, calling the car 'the product of an ongoing investigation.' The matter did not involve theft of the car and was not considered serious, police said. RCMP confirmed that officers adorned the car with tape and removed its license plate. The tape was used to show that police were aware of the abandoned vehicle, so there was no need for people to continue reporting it, RCMP said. The vehicle's flat tires were not considered suspicious, police said. RCMP hoped to have the investigation resolved by the end of the day Monday.
