A new business in Flin Flon is offering people a chance to get in touch with the world. The Internet Junction on Main Street is a place to spend time on a computer and surf the Internet, or to contact friends or family members in another part of Canada or the world. Opened recently by Pauline Martin, with technical support from Michael Besler, the Internet Junction features six computers, each with their own desk for privacy. One of the computers is rigged with video conferencing equipment, allowing the user to view the person they are talking with. There is also a PlayStation 2 for anyone who wants to enjoy playing computer games. "I've been to places in Canada and Europe where the Internet cafes have really taken off," commented Pauline. "It's time for something like this in Flin Flon." The main focus of the Internet Junction is the computers, with coffee served on the side for those who want to sip something while using a machine. "We also want to provide a place for students to work on their projects," said Pauline. "And we can help people set up an MSN account or an e-mail account that they can use anywhere they go in the future." The Internet Junction is also ideal for tourists who want to keep in touch with family and friends. If you want to go online, or if you just need a computer to help with your personal project, stop in at the Internet Junction, 140 Main Street in Flin Flon, where the world is literally at your fingertips.
