Four men have been charged with cocaine trafficking offences in The Pas and area. On May 16, as part of an ongoing investigation, The Pas RCMP arrested a man who was found to be in possession of small amounts of benzodiazepine and cash. As part of the same investigation, police attended to a local establishment where another man was arrested and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and a small amount of cash. A 21-year-old OCN man is charged with possessing both cocaine and benzodiazepine for the purpose of trafficking, and possessing the proceeds of crime. The other man, also a 21-year-old OCN resident, is charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possessing the proceeds of crime. Both men were remanded into custody. Then on May 18, also as part of an ongoing investigation, The Pas RCMP attended to a local hotel where a male was arrested outside the building and found to be in possession of small quantities of cocaine and cash. This time a 35-year-old OCN man was charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possessing the proceeds of crime. He was released on a promise to appear. Finally on May 22, again as part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP conducted a traffic stop and arrested three males. One of them was found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine while a second was found to be in possession of a small amount of cash. A 19-year-old man from The Pas district was charged with trafficking cocaine and possessing the proceeds of crime. He was later released on his own recognizance. Charges are pending against a second male for possession of cocaine while the third male was released without process.
