RCMP in Wabowden approached a man walking with open liquor over the weekend only to find he also had a large bag of cocaine. A 25-year-old Wabowden man was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Cash, drug paraphernalia, and 11 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $1,400 was seized during the investigation. The suspect was released from custody on a recognizance to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on June 15. Police came into contact with the man at 2:30 a.m. this past Saturday, May 12.
