He may have lost faith in Premier Greg Selinger’s ability to win the next election, but Flin Flon MLA Clarence Pettersen still has confidence in the NDP government.
Pettersen voted against a Progressive Conservative non-confidence motion in the legislature on Monday, the Winnipeg Free Press reported.
The opposition Tories introduced the motion in a long-shot bid to topple the government, hoping to gain support from Pettersen and other NDP MLAs
who want Selinger to step down.
But Pettersen, along with five now-former cabinet ministers who publicly suggested Selinger quit, sided with the NDP.
Pettersen and the so-called Gang of Five are barred from attending government caucus meetings and participating in government decisions.
