Jonathon Naylor Editor City council is trying to curb a downtown safety hazard _ literally. Council recently ordered a row of concrete curbs be placed along the westernmost edge of the 'snow dump' property between Callinan St. and Callinan Lane. The curbs form a barrier designed to prevent drivers from parking along the edge of the site and obstructing the view of some of the oncoming motorists. Earlier this year, council heard from a downtown resident who said the visibility concerns represented a safety hazard. Each winter, city crews use the property to unload snow scooped off the streets of the community.
