An agreement between the City of Flin Flon and Northern Bus Lines Limited was ratified during the April 17 meeting of council.
The City of Flin Flon recently purchased the Northern Bus Lines garage and buses. The agreement will see Northern Bus Lines provide operations of the city’s bus service at a cost of $187,775 for 2018-2019, and $191,688 for 2019-2020.
Fee schedule
Council approved a five per cent fee increase for the Whitney Forum. The increase will see changes to the cost of several ice rental items, along with rentals including those for Trout Festival, concerts and conferences. The cost for public skating and scrub hockey will remain the same.
Zoning changes
A public hearing regarding a change in zoning for the property at 2 Hiawatha Ave. saw no public turnout.
Council gave second reading to By-laws 2018-03 and 2018-04 to amend Flin Flon Development Plan By-Laws 37/83 and 27/84, which will see the zoning of the property change from residential to educational and institutional.
Museum Board
Coun. Ken Pawlachuk was approved as the alternate representative from the City of Flin Flon on the Flin Flon Station Museum board. Pawlachuk will attend board meetings when the city’s primary representative, Karen MacKinnon, is unable to do so.
