Jonathon Naylor Editor It's one of the most exclusive clubs in Flin Flon. Of the tens of thousands of people who have called Flin Flon home since its incorporation 80 years ago, only 90 have served on town or city council, City Hall records show. Some, like inaugural mayor E.E. Foster, who served two years, were around for a short time. Others, like legendary councillor-turned-mayor Jack Freedman, spent more than two decades in municipal politics. Several are gone but not forgotten, having had streets named in their honour, including G.T. Boam, B. Longmore and George Mainwaring. Freedman, perhaps the most revered political figure in Flin Flon history, is the namesake of a bridge.
