Residents are invited to take in some family fun under the big top later this month. The Bailey Bros. Circus is slated to be at Queen's Park near Hapnot Collegiate for two shows on September 23. "Everyone loves the circus, whether you're one year old or 101," commented Brenda Russell, director of Flin Flon Parks and Recreation, which is hosting the event. "It's always a big day when the circus comes to town. I see it as an opportunity to offer a great family event." Billed as "American's second largest big top circus," the three-ring circus will feature an array of entertainment. "They've got all kinds of exotic animals, including elephants, camels, zebras and snakes," she said. "They've also got clowns, acrobats and jugglers." Prior to the circus show times, elephant and pony rides will be offered to the crowds. Russell noted that the circus has a unique ticket structure. Children 14 and under will get in free based on two conditions: that they have a free ticket (available at the schools and many businesses around the community); and that they are accompanied by someone 15 or older. However, the accompanying person must not have more than three children. In other words, four children would require two escorts 15 or older. Unaccompanied children without a free ticket may still get in, but they will have to pay $6. "It promises to be a night of a lot of fun and a lot of great entertainment," commented Russell. "I don't think people are going to want to miss it." The Bailey Bros. Circus will be at Queen's Park on September 23 for two shows: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Flin Flon Recreation Office at the Community Hall, the Aqua Centre, Johnny's Confectionery and Di's Confectionery.
