On Saturday, Oct. 23, Menno and Debbie Giesbrecht and Russell and Sally Rood from the Flin Flon Alliance Church attended a marriage conference in Calgary led by Nicky and Sila Lee, authors of the popular Marriage Course currently running in Flin Flon. The Marriage Preparation Course was also covered in the conference and is something that we hope to be able to offer engaged couples in the future. Also explored was the option of a follow-up to the Marriage Course and we may be able to pilot the material that they are currently developing in London, UK. The Marriage Course has been running successfully for three years in Flin Flon and has had amongst the largest numbers of couples attend in Canada. The Marriage Course is run over a period of seven weeks, covering topics such as communication, resolving conflict and other ways in which to enrich your relationship. The evening includes dinner at a table for two and privacy in which to discuss the relevant topics. For those interested in attending, the next course begins in Jan. 2005. For any other information on the Marriage Course, please contact Menno at 687-6001.
