A former Flin Flonner’s vibrant new reality show isn’t going national just yet.
There had been hopes that Nightclub Confidential, starring Bryan “Chunk” Pawlachuk, would air beyond Saskatchewan starting this month.
But a spokesperson for Citytv, the network that carries the show, said Monday that there are no such plans at the moment.
The spokesperson said ratings information for Nightclub Confidential would take a long time to obtain, so there’s no indication if the new series is a hit.
When Nightclub Confidential debuted on Oct. 23, however, it generated both buzz and rave reviews across Saskatchewan.
The weekly half-hour show follows the hectic existence of Pawlachuk, 39, who owns and operates the Tequila Nightclub in Saskatoon.
Though classified as a reality show, Pawlachuk prefers the term “documentary show” since nothing is scripted or staged.
The first season includes six episodes. Pawlachuk recently learned there will be a second season. Among the adventures to be documented: a trip back home to Flin Flon.
Though he left town when he was 19, Pawlachuk still has strong emotional and familial ties to Flin Flon.
Nightclub Confidential airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Saskatchewan time on the Saskatchewan affiliate of Citytv.
Episodes are also available at www.citytv.com /saskatchewan/.
