Is your child safe in his or her car seat? Trained volunteers will help residents answer that question this weekend. Police and firefighters will be in the Wal-Mart parking lot Saturday to conduct voluntary car seat inspections. They will check whether the seats are installed properly and ensure that the models have not been recalled. Anyone wishing to have their seats checked may stop by and see the volunteers between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each volunteer on hand will have taken a special course on car seats through Manitoba Public Insurance. If the weather is uncooperative, the inspections will be moved from the Wal-Mart parking lot to the Flin Flon Fire Station.
