With Christmas fast approaching, residents are reminded of the old adage that it is better to give than to receive. Leona Kemp, owner of Northern Rainbows End, put that saying to use yesterday with the Northern Rainbows End Charity Craft Sale at the Creighton Bingo Palace. Proceeds from the sale, attended by an estimated 1,000 people, will go to charitable initiatives in the local area this holiday season. The sale gave residents an opportunity to complete some Christmas shopping, as the booths carried a wide range of items, including baked goods, woodworking and plush toys. A number of people stopping by also dropped off winter coats to be donated to the needy.
