Jonathon Naylor Editor The organization responsible for the health care of Creighton and Denare Beach residents has a new look. Saskatchewan Health Minister Don McMorris on Tuesday appointed a new chair, vice-chair and member to the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority board. Ronald Woytowich is now the chair, with Ron Pratt as vice-chair and Miles Bean as the newest member. All three men live in La Ronge. "It is important for Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region to have effective representation on the board," McMorris said in a news release. "With this announcement, the board has the skills, experience and leadership to help the organization address the health needs of northeastern Saskatchewan." The chair's seat has been open since February when Joe Hordyski resigned from the position. "It is good to have the vacancy filled so promptly," said Woytowich in the same release. "Together with the health region's management, we will work to improve access to health services and find ways to make health care more patient- and family-centred." All regional health authority board appointments are in effect until Jan. 2012. Also on the board are La Ronge residents Allen Rivard, Josie Searson and Louise Wiens, along with Lorraine Bear of Sandy Bay and Leon Charles of Grandmother's Bay.
