Rob Winton is out as head of Hudbay's Manitoba operations effective today, the company confirmed.
Winton joined what was then HBM&S in 1997 and had been senior vice-president, Manitoba Business Unit, since July 2014.
Andre Lauzon, who currently works as technical director, mining - base metals, for nickel miner Vale in Sudbury, Ontario, will succeed Winton effective Aug. 1.
Hudbay president and CEO Alan Hair told The Reminder that the Manitoba operations will benefit from Lauzon's 20-plus years of experience in technical, operating and leadership roles in the mining industry.
