Purported cuts to long-term care and home care services in Manitoba are raising concerns as the province's population ages. The opposition Progressive Conservatives say the latest provincial budget cuts long-term care services by $15.9 million and home care services by $1.6 million. PC leader Hugh McFadyen said the cuts amount to a broken promise to open more personal care home beds. Between 2006 and 2011, the percentage of Manitoba's population aged 65 and over grew by 6.5 per cent.
