For the first time ever, the Manitoba Arts Network is bringing its renowned Rural Art Mentorship Program (RAMP) to Manitoba's northern region, and now we're looking for a few good artists. 'RAMP North' will artists and aspiring artists working in any medium paired up with a professional artist that will help them grow their body of work, hone their skills in mounting and displaying shows, and establish the skill set needed to further their career as an artist. The Manitoba Arts Network is now accepting applications from potential program participants who live anywhere in the northern regions of Manitoba or Saskatchewan. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12. A maximum of eight participants will be selected and will spend the next several months meeting regularly to work with each other and Pauline Braun, a printmaker and book artist who works in mixed media and has mounted successful exhibitions all through Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The group will meet on three weekends over the program's five-month duration, using the NorVA Centre in Flin Flon as a base of operations. To apply, artists must submit a cover letter describing their artistic background, including the medium and discipline they work in, along with samples of their work. More information about the application process can be found at www.manitobaartsnetw ork.ca/visual-arts/rural- mentorship-program. The RAMP program is made possible by the support of the Manitoba Arts Council and Mentoring Artists for Women's Art. _ Manitoba Arts Network
