Callinex is making more headway on its properties east of Flin Flon.

An announcement from the Vancouver-based mining company made Jan. 30 said high priority targets at depth at the company’s Rainbow deposit, located at its Pine Bay project site due east of the city, had been identified through drilling campaigns and exploration at the site.

The company’s exploration targets for this year were released this week, stating that work would be expanded on the Rainbow deposit and continued on other areas of interest around the site throughout this year.

Along with the Rainbow deposit, the company plans to continue work on its Alchemist zone and do follow-up work on a new target area the company has called Odin, which, according to company representatives, shows preliminary signs of high-grade gold and silver mineralization.

“This year’s focus is to discover new high-grade mineralization in tandem with advancing our flagship Rainbow deposit, which is pending a maiden resource estimate,” said Callinex president and CEO Max Porterfield.

"We are very excited to outline exploration target areas along the main growth fault corridor that hosts the seven known deposits to date. Each target area outlined has the potential to significantly expand the high-grade copper resource base that has been discovered and defined so far at Pine Bay.”

Exploration results for Rainbow released earlier this year that it had potential to be larger than initialy thought, both laterally and vertically. The company announced last week that it had received all pending assay results from drilling done last year at Rainbow, the latest results of more than 42 kilometres of drilling done at the site since 2020. Callinex representatives said they were confident that the deposit was open for expansion at depth and hoped to advance with more drilling and exploration at the site this year.

“Our 2022 drilling campaign was successful in further defining our high-grade Rainbow deposit at the required drill spacing necessary to define a maiden 43-101 resource estimate,” said Porterfield.

“We look forward to continuing to aggressively advance Rainbow in our 2023 exploration campaign.”
