Police in The Pas have charged a man they say belongs to a gang after seizing 68 rocks of crack cocaine from a residence last week. RCMP also found marijuana, nearly $5,000 in cash, numerous gang photos and drug paraphernalia during the bust. Police have charged a 24-year-old man, whom they say is a confirmed member of the Indian Posse street gang, and his common-law wife. The man freely admitted being a gang member, police said. Acting on sources and surveillance, RCMP made the bust last Wednesday night. Gary Hopper, mayor of The Pas, publicly acknowledges his community has a problem with gangs and recently asked residents to bar suspected members from their businesses and property.
