Two men face drug trafficking charges after a vehicle was stopped on the northern Manitoba reserve of Nelson House. This past Sunday, July 28, at about 3:15 a.m., Nelson House RCMP conducted a traffic stop. The traffic stop resulted in 17 flaps of powder cocaine, one gram of marijuana and $230 cash seized. The driver, a 25-year-old man from Thompson, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Nelson House, has been charged with of possession for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with an undertaking under the Criminal Code. Both have been released on a recognizance to appear in Nelson House court on Sept. 30.
