A new poll shows U.S. President George W. Bush has widened his lead over his challenger, Sen. John Kerry. A poll released Friday by the Associated Press shows Bush with 52 per cent support among likely voters compared to 45 per cent for Kerry. The president holds a 17 per cent lead among men and is tied with Kerry among women, the poll shows. Fringe candidate Ralph Nader polled just one per cent support. A previous poll showed the number one election issue for American voters is terrorism.
